“可能的风景”是艺术家黄君辉的最新个展的题目。题为“风景”,是此次展览中的大部分作品都与风景的具体体验、审美范式的扩展以及艺术表现形式的转换等要素紧密相关。这里的“风景”,或与人、与事物,也与艺术家精神性投射契合为一个不可分割的整体,于绘画、于录像及装置艺术的美术馆展厅物质性汇聚之中试图寻求一种“可能的”精神超越。
然而,“风景”与风景画、或与更为中国传统和久远的山水画,或依此为对象或景物描摹状写的文学和艺术作品却有本质区别。无论风景、山水或更为当代的景观等词汇,都传达出某种彼时时代的征兆或艺术家自身心理看法的现实反映。例如,黄君辉的绘画作品中的恣意的形式、激烈的色彩强调、人与风景共存又时刻冲突:暴力焚烧过的现成品装置,无疑都证实上述动因或某种艺术性的延展和回应。也如W.J.T.Mitchell指出的:风景不是风格而是媒介。
艺术家为何关注风景或何以重返风景,的确已经成为当下艺术关注的焦点或生存之道。与传统和现代的交汇时刻,亦如根本就是复数的传统或多元的现代,风景一如思考和表现这个世界的可能路径,映射出丰富、迷离的耀眼光谱与无限回想。一方面,展厅中的“风景”反映出艺术家和作为观者的我们的所思所想或审美交集,而另一方面,经由艺术家的绘画之手或身体行为(系列行为录像中),我们也获得了一种“没有时间、没有空间”(Catherine Grout)的介入的现场之感。
介入不仅为反映,行动而不止于思考。黄君辉的艺术创作使得我们必需深思作为风景的艺术或艺术中存活的可能的风景。或者说是视觉,过度依赖(透视)视觉为中心或对视觉科技的无限性开发使得今天的艺术成为绝对制度制约下的规范之物。建立新的自由边界,而不是盲目的反对中心,关注偶然性的感知,而不是强调作为形式操演的作品。Merleau-Ponty写到“必需看的人在他所看的世界中不是一个异乡人”,我希望黄君辉的艺术创作已经具备了此种向度及目标。

Possibility of Landscape: Huang Junhui's painting, video and installation art

"Possibility of Landscape?is the latest solo exhibition of Mr. Huang Junhui. Entitled "Landscape", the reason for that is that most of the works show a close link between landscape and concrete experiences, extensions of artistic view and conversion of different forms of artistic expression. Here the "landscape", together with human being, outside world and artist himself, create an integral whole universe which seek a possible spiritual transcendence through those paintings, videos, and installation art works.
However, "landscape" as a natural phenomenon is totally different from landscape paintings, from Chinese ancient traditional landscape paintings, or even with the descriptions in literature. For example, in Mr. Huang Junhui's abstract paintings, the artist use various and violent forms, intense color, coexistence but conflicts between human being and landscape, installations burned violently for instance, confirms above mentioned motivation, extension and artistic response. As noted W.J.T. Mitchell: Landscape is not the style but the media.
The phenomenon which landscape becomes, again, the inspiration for many artists improve that landscape becomes the center of the contemporary art again. Landscape paintings demonstrate a possible path to express this world. On the one hand, landscape in the exhibition room presents reflects the artist's intersection with the nature, on the other hand, through painting or videos, we get the feeling to part of landscape: "no time, no space" as Catherine Grout mentioned.
Mr. Huang Junhui's works push us to ponder not only landscaping art but also the possibility of landscape. Create or extend new boundary for the freedom, rather than blindly attack the standardized forms and rules.. Maurice Merleau-Ponty wrote "an attempt to understand how it is that I am no stranger to myself? I hope that the art of Mr. Huang Junhui reached such dimension and is moving forward to this direction.
